Who We Are
PixelBot is operated by PixelBay Agency - a UK-based web design and development studio. We're not a registered company, just a trading name. If you need to reach us about anything in this policy, email us at hello@pixelbay.uk.
This policy covers PixelBot.uk only. If you end up using PixelBot on another website (one we've installed it on for a client), that site's own privacy policy applies to your use of their PixelBot instance.
What We Collect
When you use the enquiry form on this site, we collect your name, email address, website URL (optional) and the message you type. That's it. We don't run analytics, we don't track your session beyond a temporary CSRF security token, and we don't build profiles on visitors.
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page) are generated automatically by our hosting provider. These are kept for up to 30 days for security purposes and then deleted.
How We Use Your Data
We use enquiry form submissions solely to respond to your message and provide the service you've asked about. Nothing else. We don't use it for marketing, we don't pass it to third parties for advertising, and we don't add you to any mailing list without you explicitly asking us to.
PixelBot Chat Data
If your website uses a PixelBot we've installed, visitor questions are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. We do not store visitor chat conversations on our servers. The questions go from your server to Google and back - we're just the plumber.
For details on how Google handles this data, refer to Google's AI data and privacy policies. We recommend site owners review these and update their own privacy policies accordingly.
Cookies
This site uses a single session cookie (a standard PHP session) to protect the enquiry form against CSRF attacks. It contains no personal data, can't be used to track you, and is deleted when you close your browser.
We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, advertising cookies or any third-party cookie services. There is no cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to beyond the one functional session cookie described above.
How Long We Keep Your Data
Enquiry emails are kept in our inbox for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the service and maintain business records - typically no longer than 2 years. If you'd like us to delete your data sooner, just email us and we'll sort it.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you. You can also object to processing or request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@pixelbay.uk - we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Third-Party Services
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from Font Awesome via Cloudflare CDN. These services may log your IP address as part of serving those assets - that's between you and them. We have no control over their data handling. We're not paid by any of them.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of the page. We won't send you an email about it unless it materially affects how we use your personal data.
